What is Myopia?
Myopia, or “Near-sightedness” is when objects far away are blurry and objects up close are not blurry. Myopia can progressively get worse in adolescents and then stabilize in early adulthood. Factors that affect myopia development in children include genetic factors, amount of time spent indoors versus outdoors and time spent doing near tasks
Early management can help slow the progression of myopia and reduce the ocular health risks associated with high myopia, such as cataracts, glaucoma and retinal detachments
